CHAPTER - I

PERCEPTIONS IN GAPS ©

I am only six years old, but what I am about to recount here will have the assistance of my adult self... For the beginning is not exactly where everything started. I therefore establish, as the order of things, or of events, the perception of what I experienced...
I rarely remember events from before the age of six. Nevertheless, a scene emerges in the gaps of my mind, sometimes with clarity, sometimes not so much. I remember a gift I received from my mother. I think it was a wooden ship, as large as a child could possibly imagine it. I must have been about five years old; I cannot say for certain.
In one of these flashes of memory, I see myself receiving a hammer from my paternal grandfather, and I remember him whispering in my ear:
- You can break it!
And, in another instant, I see my mother with a sad yet immensely tender expression, saying:
- He is only a child...
And so, this became my last memory of my moyher.
August 2026.

Dear friends and fans, although I had promised the release of The Dimension of Afecto for 2025, several personal issues (crises, illnesses, and losses) prevented me from fulfilling that promise.
This week, I was able to complete the first chapter, out of a total of three. It may seem like little to celebrate, but I assure you this achievement is significant: for more than six months, I remained practically paralyzed by the first ten lines of the text. Even with an outline of the events, the words simply would not come.
In light of this creative breakthrough, I can say with a certain degree of confidence that the work will be released by June of this year.
Finally, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to my wife, Patrícia, and my daughter, Paloma, who have always supported me and never stopped believing in my work (often more than I did myself) as well as to my friends and fellow travelers along the way.
Happy 2026!💥
